Steps to change site (follow in this order)
By "overwrite" I mean that you delete the current file, then copy & paste the
appropriate (fall/spring) then rename the copy to the deleted file name.
Overwrite home_header.htm with appropriate value (home_header_fall.htm, home_header_spring.htm)
Overwrite home_bottom.htm with appropriate value (home_bottom_fall.htm,
home_bottom_spring.htm)
Overwrite home_nav.htm with appropriate value (home_nav_fall.htm,
home_nav_spring.htm)
Overwrite hp_nav.htm with appropriate value (hp_nav_fall.htm,
hp_nav_spring.htm. This may break links with the existing Hot Picks pages - not
if we're using group1/2 pages
Overwrite home_template.htm with appropriate value (home_template_fall.htm,
home_template_spring.htm)
Overwrite site.css with appropriate value (site_fall.css, site_spring.css)
Overwrite images/tile.jpg with appropriate value (tile_fall.jpg,
tile_spring.jpg)
Overwrite images/shim.gif with appropriate value (shim_fall.gif,
shim_spring.gif)
Overwrite images/cover_image.gif with appropriate value (cover_image_fall.gif,
cover_image_spring.gif)
Edit occurrences of Spring vs Fall AND change year if needed in text. The
following are currently the only pages.
- home.asp ("Fall nnnn Preview", "Spring nnnn Preview",
"Click here for our Fall/Spring nnnn newsletter")
- hp_home.asp ("Fall nnnn", "Spring nnnn"; ALSO - look in
text paragraph)
Edit Footer to update year if necessary
- home_bottom_spring.htm
- home_bottom_fall.htm
Demote the current Newsletter
- Update Archive Page: Add Month Year and Title of existing newsletter to 'newsletter_arch.asp'.
- Copy existing pages (newsletter.asp, newsletter2.asp, ...
newslettern.asp, newsletter-nav.htm) from root to 'news_archives' directory
- Rename newly copied pages to reflect 'arch', season, year.
- Correct links in '-nav' page
- Correct included bot that is on each newsletter page to use adjusted -nav
page
- Check links to pages - should be no problems
New Newsletter
- New style of Newsletter - replace with captured images from PDF at 75%
zoom
- Pix to be resized to 550 wide (approx 722 wide)
- Change Vol number, Season and Year across all newsletter pages - in single
include page (newsletter-nav.htm)
- New Images are in folder such as: /images/newsletter-2009spring/2009spring-page02.jpg
Hot Picks - Group 1 & 2
- Folder/pages: hotpicks/group1.asp, hotpicks/group2.asp
- No Popup text describing model's attire anymore
- These are pages 6, 7 from the Newsletter respectively
- New Images are in folder such as:
images/newsletter-2009fall/model-1-1-500h.jpg
Hot Picks -Accessories
- Folder/page: hotpicks/accessories.asp
- This is page 4 from the Newsletter
- Replace popup text (text capture from page 5 of PDF)
- Accessory images - fit in max: height=500, 700 wide, fitting within 600h x
800w
- New Images are in folder such as: /images/newsletter-2009spring/2009spring-page02.jpg
Home Page
- First paragraph or so (less or more) on Home page. Some variations with
this; some images to be included from newsletter.
Flash Page
- New images from Newsletter, as specified. Use images from Model pix used
in group pix
- copy latest '*.fla' file to a new version
Postcards
- Requires adding a new page such as 'postcards/pc_spr01.asp' or
'pc_happyholidays2009.asp'.
Copy and paste to add a new one.
Modify image AND Alt text.
- Add new - main pic on postcard_menu.asp follows format:
folder: images/postcards/pc_fall2009-277w.jpg
landscape: 277 wide
- Thumbnails follow the format:
images/postcards/pc_rsox_pcard-108w.jpg
108 wide, ~87 high (landscape),
~69 wide, 108 high (portrait)
- Full size version (popup) have format:
folder: images/postcards/pc_rsox_pcard-430w.jpg
430w, ~237 high - landscape;
250 wide, ~396 high (portrait)
- Add to the column in postcard_menu.asp that has the least (shortest).
Copy and paste current top entry in 'code' view
Known issues
Looks like 'primaryfooterbackcolor' is not in use in the footer/bottom
