What caught our eye after the long suffering boys of summer won
the World Series was the large red banner hanging outside the
Isabelle Stewart Gardner Museum along the Fenway bearing the
words “Oh you Red Sox.” In 1912, Isabelle, who was a
season ticket holder, wrote those words on a headband and wore
it to Symphony to celebrate her team’s championship victory over
the Giants. “Oh you Red Sox,” our sentiments exactly.
Even after all the bold headlines, editorials, and articles, we were

disbelief along with everyone else well past
October. Ilene and Sandy and family had the thrill of a lifetime in
St. Louis, and Studio well-wishers gathered at the store to rehash
those heady days and celebrate with us. The mere memory of the
Red Sox triumph would keep us all warm well into winter. And then, as these things often happen, there was an added bonus
from Ilene’s connection. While at the New York Gift

Show, we
came upon an oil reproduction of a vintage baseball. Eight by eight
on stretched canvas. We were immediately smitten and a
light bulb went off. Why not use it as a fundraiser - with a little a little help
from our friend. With Theo’s gracious
assistance, signature and indelible sharpee we
turned these little prints ($100 each and
still available) into a major fund-raiser and have already
given the Jimmy Fund a check for $20,000. So in spite of this
winter’s cold and abundant snow, we at
The Studio have once again
been warmed by your ever present support and good wishes.
Go Sox!
With thanks,
Sandy, Marcie &
Ilene
