"Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence in society "
Mark Twain 1835 - 1910

And without further ado,
The Studio's Hot Picks:

There's no denying how it feels to be beautifully "suited up". You can look casual, powerful or simply elegant. You can face any boardroom or any in-law. They go everywhere you need to go and make you feel great. The big hit of last season, Yansi Fugel, is back with a great color palette and several new jackets. Garfield and Marks doesn't disappoint either; there are many new and different fabrications. And then our new "finds" . . . too many to list, you'll just have to come in and see for yourself. But remember, as great as they are, suits can be a tricky fit. You might need one size jacket, another size pant (sound familiar?). We'll try to accommodate you - we usually can. Remember, it's always best to shop early.

Cropped pants, capris, clam diggers, floods and ankle pants (whatever you choose to call them) they are now a fashion staple. We're total converts having given up shorts, for the most part. Sandy spotted women

in Paris wearing their petite pantaloons in January. Go conservative with Elliot Lauren's stretch sateen ankle pant (black or tan) or add to your collection with Loco Linda's fantastic retro prints.

Linen is the perfect fabric for spring and summer; wrinkles and all. It's funny to think that the world seems to be divided into two separate camps those who love it and those who don't. We love it and have filled The Studio with linen jackets in every conceivable color and shirts and trousers in many different styles.

Lana Turner wasn't the only one. We are all sweater girls at heart. There is something about buying a new sweater that makes you feel good. Fio's ribbon yarn big button cardigan (white, black and pink), or Sensations' "Sexy sweater" (coral, pink, blue and black).

A great name for a great company, Hanky Panky. Tops, tops and more tops in flowered jacquards, stretch lace and bright stripes long sleeved, short sleeved, "bra'd" and strappy. You know the rule, at least three tops for every bottom! Our favorite black and white striped cami with lace trim.

Our t-shirts are better than ever and there's one for every body - Michael Star's 'retroversibles'; On Your Back's black stripe combos; Three Dot's cotton jersey lace; Glima's artsy prints; and Pow Wow's luxurious silk/cotton.

The shoes that you all loved last summer created quite a stir. Hundreds of shoe stories Cathy who was stopped in the street, Abbe who was accosted on a New York City subway, Paula who wore them for 14 days and 14 nights on her vacation and Sally, who bought 3 pairs and sent in 2 friends. Now they're back, better than ever. More styles, more colors. Same great prices.

Remember that reversible rain jacket from Mycra Pak? Well its back in new colors. A new item - a fantastic travel/beach bag made out of that very same fabric. Bobbi took hers to St. Maarten and won't leave home without it.
